A Question and *I* don't want no stinking bombers

It is refreshing to see a sense of humor on topics like this - hat's off to
Roy Fisher and Tom Petrik. Tom you hit too close to home though! When I
was going to law school in Tacoma, Washington we lived in an appartment
facing North about half a mile South of the main runway at McChord AFB. If
we looked out our front window in the evening we'd see very large, bright
headlights shining right into the window coming up at a high rate of speed
which was kind of unsettling to say the least. Seems this was the time when
lots of transport aircraft were coming in each day, C-130's if I remember
right - anyway we still remember that they were huge and close. Wasn't any
good trying to use the phone when one was nearby either.

It is funny though the things that you remember and what kids remember from
their experiences. Some time ago a leader mentioned here about a group of
Cubs being given a tour of a super computer facility and getting really
excited not by any of the wonderful technology, but instead going wild about
the suction tool used to lift sections of flooring to get at wiring under
the false floor.

In a lighthearted vein I'd be tickled to hear from other leaders of
experiences with Scouts on tours and activities where the fun thing turned
out to be something unexpected or the highlight of the activity was
something the leaders wouldn't have dreamed about -- including things your
Scouts may have experienced or a favorite memory from your days as a Scout.

What was your Scouts' favorite unexpected experience?

Mike
