Re: youth protection and National

At the 97 Jamboree I worked at Trading Post C. We were all male, and were
told that everyone, youth and adult and adults, were to share one shower
bathroom tent because otherwise the youth would have to take unheated
showers in the western region subcamp. I suggested establishing times to
share the facility, but the "golden bars" were not interested. The following
morning an announcement was made concerning an 18 year old that was "caught"
playing cards in a youth tent. One of my tent mates yelled out, "don't
worry, just get naked and play cards in the shower". National completely
violated it's own youth protection guidelines. They were also the worst
offenders of smoking during the Jamboree. Maybe National Supply is exempt
from BSA policies.
