Reluctant Scout Follow-up

There is a new Tenderfoot Scout in Troop 1988 tonight! Yes, Tim passed his
Board of Review with flying colors but best of all, he is so proud of
himself. Even before the BoR he decided that he wanted to wear his uniform
to the patrol meeting tomorrow night instead of the customary troop t-shirt
and jeans. I'm going upstairs now to sew his patch on. And yes, I later let
Tim read what I had written and I'm putting a copy away with the special
papers I'm saving for him.
And thank you to all who wrote in response to my original posting. I tried
to reply to each but I might have missed a few. I was so touched by
everyone's empathy, support, encouragement and sharing of similar personal
experiences. My tale seemed to hit many different chords from "I've been
struggling the same way with my son" to "I was Tim when I was a kid too!".
