Adult Leader Training

Judy and all folks concerned with training, especially Commissioner Training

The booklets The District and The Council have had their national
supply number listings changed. The new number for The District is 33070, and
the new number for The Council is 33071. These books are used as
references/resources in many leadership training courses, and some councils may
not pick up on the new numbers, concluding wrongly that since the old number
has disappeared, the books are no longer offered.

This problem exists in both the Commssioner Basic Training Manual,
and the Commissioner Fieldbook, in the most recent printings. The Commissioner
Fieldbook cites the wrong number on page 49, under resources, while the
Commissioner Basic Training Manual cites both old numbers on page 8, materials
and equipment.

The new numbers are in the latest Scouting's Library of Literature,
# 70-080, dated 3/98, and features a desk chair and desk, with several Boy and
Cub Scout handbooks on the front cover, rather than the gray cover with the
title displayed corner to corner, dated 2/97.

Judy,

Who can we contact at National to insure that the training manuals
are updated, and how can we get the same person to include publication dates in
the Library of Literature, so we can us this publication to insure that we have
the most current versions of reference and training literature?

Dave
