I don't know what the rules are (or were), but I was acquainted with a (now
deceased) Scouter who was awarded the Roman Catholic St. George Award, but he
was not Roman Catholic. He was, however, active with the Catholic Committee
on Scouting in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. His son was raised a Roman
Catholic, and was a member of a Troop sponsored by his Parish, hence the
involvement by my friend and coworker.
