Great!!

Don't plug it into a phone line, Steve. Go to several websites of
interest and bookmark them (the files and graphics will remain in
the cache until you delete them all). Don't delete the email
you've received so that they have some idea of what kinds of thing
are discussed on various lists and groups. This may be hard to do
with rec.scouting.*, but it can be done.
Let them look on their own before or after the presentation, and
give Scouters a little time to take a look at it. Some won't be
itnerested at all, Steve....it's a fact of life that there are
STILL a lot of folks that aren't really interested in the Internet
and the potential it has to make their jobs easier. You're not
going to win any "converts" in those cases.
But remember "guided discovery"??
>Can anyone tell me how many particapants we have on Scouts-L?
As of the first day of this year:
1755 participants
308 *hidden participants*
__??_reading Scouts-L from websites (scouter.com, scouting.nl,
2063+ total participants etc.) or through BBSes.
>Any other ideas about how to give and what to include in the

*A handout of Internet terms
*Information on how to SUBSCRIBE to Scouts-L and other discussion
lists
*Your Council's policy on usage of websites and pages (if they have
such a thing)
*A copy of the BSA's official statement concerning the Internet
*Examples of how units, individuals, and organizations are using
websites and email addresses
Let us know how it goes!
