Re: BSA Flags

Lawyer Jim <JHMoss@LAWYERNET.COM> asked:

>regular size.

Yup. You can order a smaller sized flag (I believe the smallest
that it goes is 2x3 ft) as far as the Troop flag is concerned. The
Council and BSA flags are standard sized and aren't available in a
smaller size.

Remember, you MUST order the flag WITH LETTERING. The BSA will NOT
honor ANY order for flags WITHOUT the minimum lettering (Unit name,
number on top; city, state on bottom). Don't even try it. I've
tried now for over TEN YEARS to get an old Exploring flag (the two
color flag, not the blue flag) withOUT lettering on it. "Not only
do we don't have any in stock, but we can't sell it to you without
a unit number and location sewn on the flag!!").

The World Scout flag is also available in that smaller size (it's a
little larger in width than the Troop flag). One of the Troops in
which I was a Scoutmaster of presented me with the "travelling
flag" when I rotated back to the States along with a World Scout
flag so that I could always remember the great times I've had with
the Troop and with the international Scouting community in Europe.
I haven't framed it yet, and every time I find it in the bottom of
the box, I get a little misty-eyed.

Speaking of flags, does ANYONE here know where I can get an
ANIMATED BSA Flag graphic (yep, I'm cross-posting this to E-Scouts
where it should be posted, but seeing how we're talking about the
BSA flag right *now*....*grinning*) If you know of a resource or a
URL, please send to me *privately* unless you think that others
here would also want to know where it is too!

Hope this helps you out, Lawyer Jim!
