SCOUT LEADER NAMED FOR RELIGIOUS PROGRAM LEADERSHIP

Chicago, November 12 - The National Association of Presbyterian Scouters n=
amed
Life Member Thomas C. Petrik of Des Plaines, Illinois as their new Nationa=
l
Secretary. Mr. Petrik will fill out the uncompleted term of Oren Peters of
Oklahoma, who asked to be relieved of duties for personal reasons.

Tom Petrik is a long-time Scouter. He grew up in the Scouting program, <SN=
IP
all the personal achievement stuff>. He previously served the National
Association of Presbyterian Scouters (=93N.A.P.S.=94) as the Director for =
the
Lincoln Trails Synod Region.

He currently serves Northwest Suburban Council in Mt. Prospect, IL as the
Service Team Chair for their Exploring/Venturing district, a position he a=
lso
held in Des Plaines Valley Council at one time. In addition he has an Expl=
orer
Post he serves as Advisor for and a Scout Troop where he is a committee
member.

Tom is an Ordained Elder in the church, and is currently a member of the F=
irst
Presbyterian Church of Arlington Heights.

He is known by other Scouts and Scouters around the country for his servic=
e on
the 1997 Jamboree Staff and the 1998 National Exploring Leadership Confere=
nce

He joins a team of officers led by N.A.P.S. President Rev. Paul A. Winches=
ter,
formerly of Barrington, IL and currently residing in Milwaukee.
