Re: National Public Radio

(Wow! What a week!! The Boy Scouts locally and nationally in the
paper, on TV and even Jay Leno's teasing us!! It's been a rather
hectic week for me as well, as not just my machine but Jessica's
machine failed us this past week. We're both back up and running!)

Sorry. The guy wasn't from BSA's National Office, but rather from
a PR agency that the BSA has hired years back to serve as their
"official press agency" in a cost-cutting move. The BSA DOES have
an External Communications Division, but they are mainly now
relegated to doing press releases, fact sheets and responding to
Council inquiries regarding public information.

I heard it on my way to work, and it was good as you mentioned to
hear the BSA spoke about in rather positive terms.

I was supposed to get my first chance at a new BSA handbook this
weekend, but because of all of the stuff here, I wasn't able to do
so...(I'll be so glad when the "moving part" of our lives are over
and done with!!)

The BSA is going to be doing a "full court press" with regard to
the new Scout Handbook (and the new Fieldbook!!), so this is just
the start....local Councils have been asked to do a "project sale"
to insure that every registered Scoutmaster gets a copy of the new
Handbook before the announced date of release. This was similar to
the "Scoutmaster editions" that were handed out to Scoutmasters
when we did the "back to the basics II" program shift a few years
back (I still have mine sitting on a paper shelf behind me.)

Settummanque!
