Hi Lorie & All,
Funny (or not so funny) story about Lorie's Run-ons. As a matter of
fact I found them on the web about a month ago and used them at our last
pack meeting. I numbered them, cut them out, had some helpers give them
out randomly and during the meeting would call out the numbers here and
there. Whoever had the number called would read their joke, I would
repeat so everybody could hear and we'd all laugh at the answer and
continue on with the pack meeting. I thought it was a great idea!
Well, along about the 6th or 7th joke, one of my 1st year Webelos stands
up and says "Why can't boy ghosts have babies?" Of course I repeated it
loud enough for everyone else to hear, and then came his answer,
"Because they have hollow weenies!" I was totally mortified!!! I had
remembered reading that joke in with the rest, but forgot to edit it out
before giving them out at pack meeting.
The parents all laughed (really!), but I was still uncomfortable with
what happened. Just goes to show that we Leaders need to be like Santa
"making a list and checkin it twice!"
