Another word of caution. I have seen an aluminum DO "blast" apart
during a winter campout in Germany. The boys took it immediately from
the fire and put it into the snow. A big chunk flew off and the
remainder had a big crack, almost splitting the DO in half. Since
then, I only rely on the cast iron variety.
