Friends,
This evening at Troop 377's fall court of honor myself and two others from
our Troop will be receiving our Wood Badge Beads. We attended Wood Badge
course NE-IV-92 together at our Council's Camp, Hawk Mountain Scout
Reservation, in Schuylkill Haven Pa. last fall. The course's Scoutmaster was
Mike Reichart and he put together a remarkable staff, very experienced in
Scouting, good communicators and teachers, and dedicated to the course and
it's participants.
I was the lucky one of the three of us and placed in the RAVEN PATROL,
Dave Wells, who is a digest member of this list is an Antelope, and Ron Row
Jr. is a Bobwhite. We decided from the start that we wanted to get our beads
together and have been motivating (pushing) each other to finish around the
same time.
Woodbadge has been a life changing experience for the three of us and I
am grateful for the opportunity to attend. I also appreciate my Troop's
committee for helping to pay for us to go. Taking a Woodbadge Course is a lot
of work and working my ticket this past year in addition to being Scoutmaster
for my troop has been a challenge, but it is worth it. We are striving to
have the best troop possible and the training this course provided is going a
long way to help us meet our goal. I strongly encourage every Scouter that has
not been to woodbadge yet take the course as soon as they are able.
