Dale, Camp Carpenter,
http://www.dwcbsa.org/camps/carpenter/carpenter.html, started out as a
Boy Scout camp, then added Cub Scouts, and about 1990 they converted to
an all Cub summer program. The entire history can be found at the above
web site.
A couple of years ago, they added a western-style fort, Fort Friendship,
and a Native American village to start a CubWorld. This year they added
a pirate ship.
>From my informal conversations with the Camp Manager, Steve Hambilton, I
believe that attendance numbers at least doubled since becoming a
CubWorld. Other things have helped those numbers, such as Council-wide
Cub-o-rees and Fall Blasts being held at Carpenter.
I would suggest you call Daniel Webster Council, 603-625-6431, to get
more details on their financial success.
