Adelboden and Kandersteg

Mark Ritter (RitterME@STNY.LRUN.COM)

I have a coworker who is a Scoutmaster of a local Boy Scout troop, and
both he and his wife are Girl Scout leaders. He and his wife will be
part of a group of Girl Scout leaders traveling to the international
Girl Scout facility (camp?) in Adelboden, Switzerland, soon. He just
found out that this is only about 10 miles (16 kilometers) from the
international Boy Scout facility (camp?) in Kandersteg. He'd like to
plan on a day trip to Kandersteg from Adelboden, but it's listed as a 7
and a half hour hike, one way.

Has anyone who follows this list ever been to either of these sites?
What forms of transportation are available in the area? Is there a bus
between the two? Are bike rentals available anywhere near? I wasn't
asked specifically about car rentals, but I wouldn't rule them out. Do
either of these places have a web site? If so, what are the URLs?

Thanks;
