Kevin, relax. I totally agree with you. Let me make the point I was
trying to make (which actually your response helps support), is that
people have different views on things. There are those, I am not
one of them, who would say that some lawyers who defend criminals in
the judicial system are immoral. There are some who say that divorce
lawyers, since these people consider divorce immoral, are immoral
by association. There are people who would say that doctors who
perform abortions are immoral because of these people's view of
abortion. A person who is decout of one faith may think that the
preachers of another are immoral or at least offensive to their way of
belief.

The point is that since different people have different attitudes and
opinions as to what is moral or immoral, what professions are "in"
or "out" with regards to morality of offensiveness, we cannot use
peoples' opinions in such matters. There has to be some other
yard stick used.

Let me say again to all the lawyers on the list (at least one of
whom responded to me personally in complete undestanding of what
I said in my original post), I DO NOT THINK THE LEGAL PROFESSION
IS IN ANY WAY IMMORAL OR OFFENSIVE, and it was not my purpose to
say so. If you all still have it, go back and read my original post.
