Wood Badge in Ohio

Dale Karweik (karweik.1@OSU.EDU)
Sun, 30 Aug 1998 00:17:18 -0400

I just read the ird message which indicates we have a problem with Wood
Badge here in Ohio. To Steve Hoar, I am in Buckeye District in Simon
kenton Council and if there is work to be done and I am sitting on my butt
with my beads and Fox belt buckle on, there has to be someone who asked me
a question that I needed to answer. This goes with all the Wodd Badgers I
work with at Camporees, the OA, the District and the Council Committees.
Yes there is a bell curve of attitudes among Wood badgers just like in any
other segment of the population you can identify and there are slackers as
well as super achievers, but the majority are just hard working Scouters
who have taken advantage of a great opportunity to learn how to manage
people and themselves. There is a course planned for this May with Brad
Knight as SM. Come on board and see for yourself what a Wood Badge
experience is. You will not regret it. This offer is open to anyone else
who stood at the side-lines and second guessed what the experience can do
for them. And yes this will be my first opportunity to be a staff member
so I'll be there too.
