Although I have no comment on the uniforming thread, I have to add something
to this note. In my district, it is the Woodbadgers who do 99% of the work at
district meetings, training events, summer camp, camporees, etc. Any time that
anything needs to be done and volunteers need to do it - you will fine "belt
buckles and bolos" there making it happen for Scouting.
I don't know if this is an anomaly but I suspect it is not. My troop was
started by two Woodbadgers working on their tickets, and they have inspired me
to go to Woodbadge training when I get the chance. Both of these men no longer
have boys in Scouting, and both put in many more hours a week than their
"one." I have the utmost admiration and respect for both men, and hope I have
the fortitude and committment to continue to dedicate time and energy to
Scouting when my sons have grown and left the nest.
