Returned to List

Not wanting to be accused of being a lurking whatever, let me say that I
have returned to the list after a short absence as I moved from the East
Texas Area Council (ETAC) to the New Orleans Area Council (NOAC).

I am district director (executive with more gray hairs) for the Chitimacha
District. Previously was sr district executive for Tall Timbers District,
ETAC; sr district executive for Bogue Tuchenna District, Istrouma Area
Council (IAC); district executive for St Tammany District, IAC; and, as a
volunteer, SA, CM, CC, DL, WL, DC, and district Cub Scout chair, CSRT
commissioner, district training chair. I used to be a Bear (SR-004).

My only axe, and I do try not to grind it too often, is to remind all that
we executives are human, too. We make mistakes; so do the volunteers
around us. We are also not a lock-step homogenous group and deserve to be
treated as individuals, not painted (for worse OR better) with the same
broad brush. Generally, we work very long hours and do it more for love
than money (present or future).

Being so error-prone, I try not to reply to the list very often so my
errors are less widely known. I do respond directly to individuals when I
think I have something worthwhile to contribute. I lurk, not to spy but to
learn. If that offends, so be it; the listowner is not offended and the
listserver allows it.

Thank you all for having allowed me that pleasure now for three councils
over five years.
