Hi Keith -

Sounds like you guys are going great gun, keep up the good work.
BTW, I would like a copy of your Policies and Procedures. I'm thinking of
working
on a set for out troop, as part of my Wood Badge ticket (3 days and counting).

Around about Wed, 19 Aug 1998 11:14:47 -0500 , I am fairly sure that
["Hudy, Keith" <Keith.Hudy@MSFC.NASA.GOV>] said something along the lines of:

>My name is Keith Hudy and I am the Scoutmaster of troop 24 in Athens, AL. I
>am not new to the scout list. I have been away for awhile, but now I am
>back. Our troop is celebrating its first anniversary this month. We started
>with the bare necessities: 5 boys, 5 adults. We have grown to 11 boys and 7
>adults. We were up to 15 boys, but some of the boys have dropped out (1
>moved, 2 others had family problems, etc.). Just in 1998 we have had 3
>service projects (with two more scheduled) and 10 activities (with 6 more
>scheduled). We are a troop this is run by the boys (that is the main reason
>why we started a new troop. The troop we came from was run by 2 leaders that
>think the troop is theirs. The boys had no input). In fact, last night, the
>boys came up with a calendar of events from 9/98 - 8/99. We are running
>this troop by the book. Everyone gets treated the same. We have an excellent
>sponsor that is behind us 100%. We have had many fund raisers to help buy
>camping equipment that we didn't have. We collected $220 at a car wash!! But
>that wasn't enough. And that's where our sponsor stepped in. They have
>bought us the rest of the camping supplies that we needed. In fact, there
>are many troops in our district (some have been in existence over 20 years)
>that are jealous of us. They tell us that we are better equipped than they
>are. The troop has its own set of policies and procedures that are followed
>to the tee. Let me know if you want a copy.
