Re: "Woodbadge uniforming?"

Scouters:
Rather than slamming the course staff for mandating long pants, let's
pause to consider wether there is a reason other than simply being
crotchety and un-informed. In many areas of the country, Lyme Disease is
a serious issue. Is the long-pants mandate an attempt to minimize the
chance that participants become infected during prime tick-time? Are
there other possible health and saftey reasons?

Let's also think back to our courses. Wether long pants or shorts were
chosen each day by the patrol, I bet everyone will admit that peer
pressure helped insure that dress was -uniform- throughout the patrol in
short order. Hopefully the reported desire to circumvent National's
direction in this course is the product of a new CD, unclear
communication, or mistaken understanding as the methods of the course
unfold.
