Re: "Barely" Eagles

I would like to chime in as another of what seems to be a growing
list of "barely" Eagles. I too advanced to Life in the minimum
amount of time, getting Life right around my 13th birthday. I then
spent the next 4 years serving as our troop's SPL (4 separate times),
member of the Leadership Corps (remember the dark green uniform
shirts), OA clan offices and other leadership positions. When I
turned 17 I decided it was time to get Eagle, and received it just
after my high school graduation. It gave me just enough time to earn
a palm.
I don't consider my experiences to be "barely" sufficient, because
the 4 years I spent getting leadership experience (even though I
didn't realize it at the time) gave me more of the qualities I
believe we look for in an Eagle than any of the ranks, awards or
badges I received.
