Re: New Rules for Local Tour Permits?

Charlie, that's been the policy as long as I've been in scouting.
Whenever boys are transported to an activity away from their normal
meeting location a tour permit is required. Even when the boys are
being transported via their family vehicle to a non-meeting site, a tour
permit should be filed to protect leadership in case of accidental
injuries. Tour permits are always required for going to in-council
camps and other sites where troops (or dens) decide to visit. It's a
hassle -- but it is in the leaders best interest to do so.
