Re: Committee Meeting Agenda

(no name) ((no email))
Sun, 2 Aug 1998 00:45:00 +0000

Sorry Gang...I hit the "send key" accidently!

Brian Watkins <brian.watkins@JUNO.COM> asked:

>My Venture Crew / Explorer Post will be having our first committee
>meeting to go over the changes of the Explorer name to Venturing
>and to set up the official committee positions and other business.
>What I am looking for is a sample agenda outline to use on setting
>up our committee meeting agenda.

Here you and others out there go:

Your Crew/Post may be larger or smaller than this and you can
adjust to suit your Crew/Post's needs, however please keep this in
mind:

*Venturing and its sibling Exploring are YOUTH RUN AND LED, with
ADULT ADVISEMENT AND COACHING. That's why the Committee meetings
should be attended by the Crew's Cabinet or Post Cabinet and only
those issues affecting specific youth (disclipline problems) should
be addressed only by the adult Committee members. This keeps both
the youth and adults "in the loop" and also allows for
cross-fertization of information between the youth of the unit and
the adults

*At a BARE MINIMUM, the Crew/Post President and Advisor should
attend. Note that the Associate/Assistant Advisors are normally
NOT part of the agenda...it doesn't mean they can't attend, just
that they don't have a vote. Neither do any of the youth in
attendance.

*Keep the meeting short, sweet, and to the purpose intended. If
you need to have a separate meeting to further discuss specific
topics, schedule it during this meeting and insure that those
adults (and youth) attend that meeting.

Hope this helps out!
