12 hours of service

Adopt a Highway is good for about 3 hours per year (2 clean-ups though 3
are recommended).
Tree planting, trail clean-up, light trail maintenance.
Check to see if you state has a Volunteer Listing. Colorado has
"volunteers of Colordo VOC, which publishes a magazine listing all the
volunteer opportunities around the state and rates them for suitability to
age or group. Ours listed, for instance, bat houses needed in southern
Colorado somewhere.
We set up a bluebird "trail" - we all have bluebird houses at our homes.
And clean those out in the fall. Building those took a den meeting or
two.
