Re: Males in GS

I have been a Girl Scout Leader for 5 years now and I have never seen a man's
offer of involvement get turned down! In my troop we have two dads who are
our "green knights" who are always among the first to help out when needed.
When I took a weekend Leadership Training course at our local camp we had one
male among about 200 female leaders. He was absolutely the most popular
person there!
Since I do not have much in the way of outdoor skills yet, I was hoping that
one of my girls dads would offer to help but apparently, most of them are also
"Tenderfeet".
As a new Cub Scout Leader I have found nothing but acceptance from the male
leaders and a lot of females hold fairly high positions within our council.
Maybe all this liberl-mindedness is just because we're in California ;)
