Hi there;
Small steps are best. Ten merit badges at once will be too overwhelming.
Two or three at a time, working on each one step at a time would be the best
way for the boy. A problem that ADD causes is that a starting point for a task
may not be easily identified. An old joke is "How do you eat an elephant? You
start with the first bite." With ADD the enourmity of almost any task makes it
very difficult to find where that first bite should be taken and frustration
makes it easier for distraction to allow a person to "forget" about the whole
thing. Although the forgetting is very real, if a boy can be given less than
three instructions at a time, they can accomplish anything.
So, yes to having more than one subject handy in case attention flags, but
no to overwhelming.
