Re: "Charter Name Scout" question

First and foremost, the scout should get any award that you can come up
with, and every presentation should be a very public ceremony. Not for the
glorification of the BSA, and not for the glorification of the boy, but for
the glorification of the "UN_Selfish" act which was performed at risk of
life and limb!!

Second, someone needs to that the track coach aside and tell him just how
far out of line he is, and ask him if his feelings would have been the same
if it were his own son (presuming that someone so hardheaded could find a
woman to carry his child :-) ), or would he have had his own son die for
the good of the track team.

Finally someone needs to have a discussion about the coach's attitude with
the schools athletic director, principal, and school board (or other
governing body). This coach needs to be in some other line of work where
there is no chance that he can influence the lives of young men.
