Keep in mind that unless he has some disability that may allow an extension,
he will have one less year to finish his Eagle Scout Award. Still lots
of time by normal standards, but he is already behind by a year, so there
might be some extra effort required on his part. This is assuming he would
like to get his Eagle. It is also assuming he will enjoy Scouting as much
as he does the Webelos.
We have one 11 year old Webelos right now. He does not have Arrow of Light
and turned 11 in May. The parents decided he was not ready for Boy Scout
Summer Camp and want him to transition in September. This actually works
out well, since another Webelos turns 11 in September and we can cross them
both over.
Be flexible, but keep in mind some things rarely bend (the finish all reqs
for Eagle before 18 is one.)
