IMHO, he should stay with his classmates. My own son repeated
kindergarten several years back. It was a great move for him. He was
struggling with his original class. Now he's doing very well with his new
class mates. I've been a leader with his den since they started as Tigers.
He is really well matched with the other boys in his group. He's bigger
than a many, but emotionally, he is on a par level with his den mates.

To ask him to step ahead one year in the scouting program would be a
mistake. For the same reason that it was right for him to hold back in the
school program, it is right for him to be just starting his Webelos years.
His den graduated Bear and became Webelos just last Friday night. They
will wear their new neckerchifs (with pride) in the Memorial Day Parade
tomorrow morning.
