Trip to Washington D.C.

I am planning a trip to Washington, D.C. for Webelos II Scouts
during the early part of February 1999. There is a chance that the scope
of this trip may be enlarged to include Scouts from Troop as part of our
Webelos-to-Scout Transition program. Since the trip will coincide with
BSA Anniversary Day, I was wondering if anyone knew of any official (or
unofficial) commemorative events that are scheduled in or around the
nation's capital.
The last time I visited D.C., I passed by a monument to the Boy
Scouts in the vicinity of the White House. Does anyone know of any
ceremony that will be conducted there to commemorate BSA Anniversary Day?
Anyone have experiences to share regarding Scout lodging in the
area other than at Anacostia?
