Fred;
We have a troop handbook. It contains troop policies, Uniform
Guidelines, Dues information, The troop Calender, the troop Roster,
Merit Badge Councillor List(within the troop), a place to keep the troop
Newletter and a divider for the Board of Review preparation forms that
we develop to help the boys get focused. It starts with a mission
statemnet and is aimed at both boys and parents. We provide it in a 3
ring binder so that new calenders, Rosters, Etc can be added. The
biggest problem we had before we had one was that there are two
populations of adults, trained and untrained. The second does not know
BSA policy. The handbook provides a tool to educate them and we've never
had a trained adult complain about repeated information. All the policy
text was adopted by a vote of the Troop committee and no one has (so
far) asked for any changes.
Remember any handbook is developed to meet a specific need so if you
want a copy let me know so I can locate the final revision. My Disk is
like Fibber Mcgee's Closet..
