Our Pack once did a expo booth where the kids cut out construction paper
folding knives with two blades and two sides. The pieces were held together
by paper fasteners (brads). The rules for knife safety were written on the
sample "blades". Each youth had to cut out the pieces of the "knife", write
the safety rules on the "blades", and assemble the finished product (about
ten inches long). They could take it with them. There was also an exercise
in assembling the pieces that re-informed the safety rules. It seemed to get
their attention and everybody had fun.

I have been asked to teach some kids about knife safety and basic use.
I would like to know if anyone has suggestions for creative, fun and
safe ways to convey basic knife safety or knife usage to a younger
audience.
