Absolutely wear the uniform in public. I do it frequently (I'm
usually stopping by the copy center to print the Pack newsletter on
the way to meetings, the agenda on the way to committee meetings, out
to eat on the way to one meeting or another, stopping for gas or by
the grocery store . . . you get the drift.
I consider it:
1- an honor to be a uniformed Scouter
2- a privilege to be able to raise the visibility of Scouting where
it might not be otherwise (in all those public places on the way to
and from events).
I get friendly comments from former Scouts all the time, too!
