Re: 3 G's

As I see it, this list serves to allow us all to share ideas and
information from a wide variety of environments. As such I don't
think it serves us well to continually rehash the same arguments,
since that takes away bandwidth we could be using more constructively
on new problems. Especially since the list is archived and readily
available (including thru a search engine on the Scouter.com webpage),
there isn't need to repost the same arguments over and over.
This doesn't just apply to the 3G's though. It seems that every
couple of weeks somebody posts to the list asking for people to repost
an article from a couple of months prior. This is then followed by
ten people being helpful and posting it to the list.
Now at the risk of seeming to flog a deceased equine, I would like to
put a different spin on a couple of questions that have been floating
around the list -- specifically an international spin. Here are a few
questions I would like to pose to the Scouts/Scouters from outside the
US:
1. What sorts of uniforms do non-BSA Scouts wear, and how well do they
work as field uniforms, dress uniforms, etc.?
2. How do your Scout organizations address the issue of admission of
atheists in light of the "Duty to God" which has always been in
Scouting?
3. What level of interaction do your Scout groups have with the
government, either the military, public schools, or other agencies?
I'm not interested in having this start debates on whether these
countries are right or wrong in their approach; I am interested to see
what we can learn from our foreign brothers and sisters.
