Re: Scouting and the PTA

>>Since that time, the local PTA has had at least five changes in
leadership and at least two complete turnovers in membership. The church
that holds the charter for the pack and troop has had only one change in
pastors in that same time and has a fairly stable membership.<<

PTA reccommends that no position is held by one person for longer than 2
years.....all the State and national offices are set up that
way..........and most parents only join a PTA at a school their child
attends...so yes, the turnover in membership of each individual PTA is
always changing....there is no transfering of membership from one group
to another..there is also no recognition of membership in a separate
PTA.........for example if you have a child in grade school, a child in
middle school, and a child in high school then to be a member of the PTA
at each school you must pay three different membership fees.....

Bev

PS I also beloing to a PTA discussion group...there is a *paid* PTA
executive in teh group...let me see if he can give us a definitive answer
on this..........
