Sure. The book - Insignia Guide - says "Official headgear may be worn
while the unit or individual is participating in an indoor formal
ceremony or service duty, except in religious institutions where custom
forbids." The Campaign Hat is an official hat - just look for the BS
label. They've gotten a bit more pricey, but if you want to wear one,
go for it. I'd order one from a scouting shop that can send it back if
it doesn't fit, because with the stiff brim some folks have to buy a
size larger to fit. Also order or make a hat press to keep the brim
neat. The catalog lists one for about $4.75. Mine is two rectangular
bits of half inch plywood, hinged at one end, with a cutout to accept
the hat crown, and a couple of hooks and eyes - velcro would also work,
to keep it fastened. The issue one is a flat piece of masonite, a
masonite spacer, and another "U" shaped piece of masonite, fastened to
the bottom and the spacer with rivits or tacks - you slide the hat brim
into the slot left by the spacer layer. My only argument with this
arrangement is that it doesn't press/hold the entier brim at one time.

To reply, remove the word, "nospam" from my return address.
