Introduction

Bill Warde (billw@OKWAY.OKSTATE.EDU)
Thu, 2 Apr 1998 12:54:00 -0600

Havu=ing somehow been zapped from Scouts-L I have finally got around
to rejoining the group.

I am currently a Troop Committee Member for Troop 828, Stillwater,
Oklahoma; District member at large; Explorer Post Advisor (in name)
and Council Commissioner, Will Rogers Council, BSA. We are a Class 51
Council in North Central Oklahoma.

I have two sons - one Eagle turns 21 this summer & is SA in the Troop
whenever he has time from work & College. The other is 17, Life Scout
with a few things to finish before July 9 when he turns 18 in order to
fledge himself as an Eagle.

My youth experience was in UK where I attained Queen Scout & served as
an Assistant Ciubmaster, Assistant Scoutmaster & Scoutmaster before
"crossing the pond". I have been enrolled in scouting someplace or
other for 47 years.

I attended the last six National Jamboreess, three times with the
Council Copntingent, once as a Sub Camp Commissioner, and the last two
times as one of the 'night owls' who worked Troop Food Group.

In response to Mike's posting on who makes policy, althouhg for the
past four years I have been invited (but been unable to attend) the
National Executive Board Meeting, I was unaware of and never invited
to the (Southern) Regional Board Meeting. In my Area (Area III) we do
have an annual meeting of the Key 3s but this is not a policy making
or approval session in any way.
