My first few campouts I got pretty uptight about this, but I've learned
there's not much point. The second night is always betterm and after a
few times out the new scouts (who tend to be the biggest problem) get
past the novelty of camping out and learn that it's better to get some
rest. There are always a few exceptions, but as long as they aren't loud
enough to disturb the others (or me!) I try to ignore them.
On our last campout, a car camp, a couple of patrols brought large, four
or five man tents. The tents that had four or five kids in them seemed
to be noiser, later than the ones that were two to a tent.
If I could just get the adults to go to bed...
