There was a society from North Central Ohio called Pipestem. After being
inducted the members wore a soft piece of rock (red as I remember) around
their neck. They then advanced upward and at each level got a longer piece
of rock with an additional symbol on it. I believe the top level was 5.
Most of the time you just saw people who had attained/been awarded the 5th
level with the rock on their necks. It was not the Akron Council or the
Cleveland Council. All I can remember is that I learned about the society
at their camp during a EC6A conference in 70's.
