As I've been singing and reminiscing over the past 24 hours, I do remember a
story going along with "the song" from summer camp, but it was quite different
and much shorter.
The story we were told was that in the international brotherhood of Scouting,
whomever created the song made up words which meant absolutely nothing in any
language. It was complete nonsense no matter where you were from, no matter
what language you spoke, thus uniting Scouts around the world with one song
that had exactly the same meaning to everyone, much like Scouting does.
I kind of liked that idea, too.
