Trained and Outing Based

"It starts, really, with a Venture type program, that is shot full =
activity,
with trained "active" JR Leadership as well as trained "active" Scouters =
to
run the program and a "active" Committee to back that program."

I just wanted to put my 2 cents in. This statement really hit home =
(working in a Troop that did not have these elements). Trained in =
Scouting whether adult or younger Scout and delivering an "active" =
program seems to be the answer to some of the problems posted on the =
list. Lack of those 2 items are due to a variety of reasons-I've seen =
many excuses, even some with validity. The bottom line is if you are =
properly trained, follow National guidelines, and have an "outing based =
program, you must have powerful unit that offers what Scouting is all =
about. That is my goal for my Unit. Thanks to the list for the wealth of =
information to help direct me in the direction I'm headed. If that makes =
sense?! I guess what I'm trying to say is I felt a little lost but seem =
to have found my way again. Scouting has become fun once again! Thanks.
