Cake Auction

Jan Mussler wrote about her unit having a cake (whipped cream pies) auction
for their FOS contribution. This is something we have never tried, but it
sounds like fun.

We usually get the notice of our goal from council about this time every
year. This year it is $2000.00. But with the notice this year the letter
stated that we could "challenge" this amount at the kick off meeting next
week. I assume that if we want to reduce this amount we would just have to
say so.

We normally just ask the parents for a donation to the FOS fund. The
majority do make a donation, but a few don't. These donations range from
25.00 to in some cases to over 100.00 in others. But getting the kids
involved sounds more entertaining.
