Pete,

I can only tell you what we do in our troop...that we view service as an
"extension" of scouting, in other words, something provided to others. We
don't allow service hours to be counted if they are done for the benefit of
the scouting program. Service hours must be for the benefit of the larger
community. Our Mic-O-Say and OA members often do service projects for the
benefit of the program but these are separate from advancement service
hours.

As many on the list say....just my 2cents.
