I'm sending this along for a possible explanation by someone on the list.

>Has anyone ever come across a novelty/toy/trick in which a carved wooden

>trying to figure out how it's done.

>The arrow is carved from a single piece of cedar with no seams or breaks
>anywhere. It has a large arrowhead at one end and a tail at the other end
>(both of which are part of the same solid piece of wood). The shaft of the
>arrow goes through a hole in a solid block of oak. The hole is just
>slightly larger than the shaft of the arrow and is much smaller than either
>the arrowhead or tail. The question, of course, is how the arrow got
>through the hole to be embedded within the solid block? The person who
>built it swears that there are no hidden cuts or seams, no parts glued
>together, and that both the arrow and block started out as completely
>separate pieces (this is confirmed by the fact that they are different
>types of wood!).
>
>Is this an old Boy Scout trick? Has anyone else come across such a thing?
>Any guesses?
