The short answer, Chris, is because a lot of paper was being spent on
materials that most Scouters didn't use. The BSA finally "caught a clue"
and bounded together the "best of the best" into Woods Wisdom. The
rest...well, you have some, and I have some and there's other Scouters out
here that have some....
>They basically give a complete meeting plan or campout geared around a

Nope, they aren't on the web *yet*. If you're willing to scan and post
them, I'm sure that someone out here will have some usage with them. What I
do with those old program helps and inserts is to photocopy them and provide
them as "starters" for new units. As you stated, there's a complete monthly
program with very little "modification" that needs to be done within each one.
You will have to be careful of the games and songs suggested. There's a lot
of games that we USED to play which aren't allowed today (check with *your
local Council* for specific guidance) and some songs which should *really
not be sung today* even though I LOVED THEM (and still sing them loudly in
the shower here at home) !!

Unless you are reselling them, the BSA allows you and I and other Scouters
to use their materials to support and further the program; therefore, you
don't need their permission. However, please be advised that if you post
information to a site that has "questionable advertisements" in the form of
those "changing ads" on some free sites, the BSA *might* get upset about it!!
A good idea, however, would be to place a disclaimer similar to the
following on your pages:
"The following information was taken from material (C) Boy Scouts of America."
Hope this all helps!
