Al,
The Board will ask the candidate about the meaning of the Scout Oath and
Law, and how they have learned to apply them to their daily life. The
Board will inquire about the candidate's experiences as a leader.
Reference letters are very useful to the Board when they help address these
questions with specific experiences and examples. "When Johnny worked for
me as a grocery stocker, he was very trustworthy. He was always prompt,
did his job carefully and to completion, and asked questions if he did not
understand the task. I could rely on him to get the job done without
special supervision."
