Re: Cub Scout Woodbadge

Connie Pettit asked about Cub Scout Wood Badge.

First, I should recommend the Wood Badge Website, www.woodbadge.org.
(I'm sorry I don't know how to put a real link here - I'd appreciate it
if somebody could teach me that!). It explains the concepts of Cub
Scout Trainer Wood Badge.

Connie, the most important thing for you to consider is this: if you're
not a trainer, or if you're not going to be a trainer, then don't go to
Cub Scout Wood Badge. When you accept the invitation, you commit to
serve as an active member of a training team, so make sure you are
willing and able (and approved, if necessary) to do that. Your ticket
will include specific commitments that you must fulfill AS A TRAINER.
You don't need to be a Training Chairman or anything exotic - service on
a training team or a Roundtable Staff works very well.

You also asked if there's anything you can do to prepare for the course.
To put it succinctly, "no". You and your Den Counselor will determine
what you already know, what you need to learn, and how you can get the
knowledge you need. All you need to bring is your enthusiasm!

Feel free to write me if you have any other questions or concerns.
