Backpacking Equipment

I'm looking into getting some new backpacking equipment, and I'd like to
get the list's opinion on a few things. If you ever do any backpacking,
please reply to this message, so I can make a good deciscion on what to
get.

What size backpack does everyone have? Do you wish it was any smaller or
bigger? Do you prefer backpacks to have lots of smaller pockets, or a
few big pockets? Do you prefer internal or external frame? What is your
favorite brand of backpacks?

I'm also looking into buying a hydration system. Right now I'm planning
on buying the PakTeen 70 oz. from CamelBak. Has anyone ever used one of
them? It attaches using dual daisy chains. My backpack has them, but how
do they work? I've never had to use them.

I'm also looking into buying a GPS system. Has anyone ever used one of
these at Philmont? How much do they help you? Yes, I can use a map and
compass, but I'm also a high-tech freak. :-)

If someone would like for me to summarize the replies I get and send
them to them I'd be glad to. If there is enough interest I'll just post
to the list. Thanks in advance for your help.
