When is Smoking OK?

I recently attended a scout committee meeting that was held in a "Smoke Free
Building" that is not affiliated with scouting in any way. This is where
the last two meetings have taken place. Our committee-chair announced that
the next meeting was to be held where he could smoke in an office of our
charter org. He never asked us if we minded his smoking and none of us
"Bozos" even spoke up. I know I am not the only one who doesn't smoke. Nor
do I like the idea of being exposed to smoke.
I know it is not permissiable to smoke in front of the boys at scouting
events but what about meetings that scouters attend. I feel it should be
both places so it sets the right example all the time, not part of the time.
Also my children sometimes attend the committee meetings as both my husband
and I hold positions and don't always have child care available. One child
is a cub scout.
I don't like to offend people but I feel this issue needs to be addressed.
If the smoking rule applies to all areas of scouting, I think that is all it
would take, as he seems to want to "do it by the book".
