Re: 1998 Mid-Atlantic Activities

Steve,
Have you considered a trip to the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in St.
Michaels. I was reading an article in Chesapeake Bay Magazine that they now
offer over-nighters to youth groups. I has something to do with spending
the night in the lighthouse to experience what the keepers used to go
through.

They also have a new interactive exhibit of an old crab shanty from Smith
Island. The boys can try doing various waterman chores, such as tonging,
baiting a crab trap, etc. I haven't been over there since this opened so I
can't give you first hand information, but I'm going to suggest it to our
PLC as a possible activity in 1998 as well.

YIS from the quiet side of the bay,

Ron Raab-Long
